Who is The Antichrist?

The Antichrist is a man who will take over the world before the coming of Jesus Christ. From Nero to Barack Obama, some people have claimed that different politicians as the Antichrist who will take over the world. However the Antichrist has to meet certain criteria to fulfill prophecy in the Bible.

1. Roman

The Antichrist has to be Roman who was born in the Vatican City, which is the Mother of Harlots. Since Jesus Christ was born in Israel, the Holy Land, the Antichrist has to be born in the city-state called the Mother of Harlots (Revelation 12:1-5). In the Book of Daniel, it describes that the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city (Daniel 9:26). Forty years after Jesus Christ was crucified, Rome destroyed Jerusalem. Another reason why he has to be a Roman citizen and not a citizen of the Vatican City is due to its laws. Even though it is an independent city-state, citizenship is not based on birth but granted only to those who reside in the Vatican because of their work or office.

2. Vatican City

Mother of Harlots is described in the Book of Revelation in detail as a woman arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand (Revelation 17:4). The beast the woman is sitting on a beast with 7 heads and 10 horns (Revelation 17:7-9). The 7 heads are the 7 mountains that sit in Rome and the 10 horns are the 10 kings appointed by the Antichrist. So not only will he be born in this city but his headquarters will be there as well (Revelation 17:18). Today even though the Vatican City is the smallest state, it is the most powerful and richest state in the world.

3. Play God

The Antichrist has play god and try to convince the world he is god. In order for him to play god, he will:

  • Claim he’s the god of all gods (2 Thessalonians 2:4, Daniel 11:37)
  • Perform false signs and wonders which will amaze the unbelievers (2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)
  • Resurrect from the dead after a fatal head wound by a sword (Revelation 13:3-4, Revelation 13:14)
  • Have a living image of himself (Revelation 13:15)
  • Create a one world religion in with the help of the False Prophet that anyone who does not worship the living image will be killed (Revelation 13:15)
  • Change times and laws to fit his needs (Daniel 7:25, Daniel 11:36)
  • Blasphemy against God, the son, father, and the Holy Spirit and does not acknowledge Jesus Christ came in the flesh (Daniel 11:36, Daniel 7:25, 1 John 2:22, 1 John 4:3, 2 John 1:7, Revelation 13:6).

4. Relations with the False Prophet

The Antichrist will give the false prophet demonic powers to do miracles including making fire come down from the sky like Elijah (Revelation 13:11, 2 Kings 1:12). Both will introduce a new world religion in which everyone will have to worship a living image of the Antichrist (Revelation 13:15).

5. Worldwide Peace Plan

The Antichrist will propose and promote a worldwide peace plan for 3.5 years. He will also create 7 year peace treaty with many nations during a time of tribulation mentioned in the Book of Revelation (Daniel 9:27). Even though he is the son of Satan, he will portray himself to be the savior of the world. He will be fierce, clever, manipulative, and charming, which are similar traits of the devil (Daniel 8:23-25, Acts 13:10, 2 Corinthians 11:3, 1 Peter 5:8).

6. No Desire for Women

The Antichrist has to have no desire for women (Daniel 11:37). Bible does not make it clear if he will be asexual or homosexual. However observing that recent sex crimes in the Vatican, he will possibly portray himself to be pure but is a homosexual pedophile.

7. Rebuilt of the Temple of Jerusalem

In order for the Antichrist to come, there has be a rebuilt of the temple of Jerusalem. The rebuilt has to be finished so there can be daily animal sacrifices and offerings (Daniel 12:11).

Do not be deceived, the Antichrist has not yet been revealed. Many must depart from the faith before he is revealed (2 Thessalonians 2:3). Many people will fall away from their faith due to evil spirits, false prophets, and demonic doctrines (1 Timothy 4:1-2, Mark 13:22, Matthew 24:10-11).  So always be on guard and test every spirit to see if it if of God (1 John 4:1).
