13 Oct Why Everyone Needs Deliverance
What is deliverance? The dictionary defines deliverance as the action of being rescued or set free. Everyone by default is born into this world as a slave to sin due to Adam’s sin (Romans 5:12). Sin belongs to Satan and his kingdom because he was one of the first angels to sin. So whenever you sin, you are giving Satan legal rights over your life and possessions including your children (1 John 3:8). This is why the Bible states, The time for judging this world has come, when Satan, the ruler of this world, will be cast out. – John 12:31. Some Christians believe that we don’t need deliverance after Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. Some Christians believe only non-believers need deliverance. However we all need deliverance.
Our Problems Are Spiritual
The Bible makes it clear that our problems are not physical but spiritual (Ephesians 6:12). Since our God is a spirit, the spiritual realm dictates what happens in our world (Colossians 1:16). This is why some people get visions of the future including the prophets in the Bible. All problems we face are controlled by an evil force in the spiritual realm.
Why do Christians need deliverance?
Christians can be occupied by one or more evil spirits. The reason for this is due to the legality the spirit has over you. For example if your ancestors worshiped idols (demons in disguised as gods) and made a covenant with them, you are also in that covenant as well. This is why curses can be pass from generation to generation such as cancer, domestic violence, etc. You will need to break one covenant to be part of another covenant. You can not be in two covenants at once in God’s eyes. For it is written, You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons. – 1 Corinthians 10:21.
Repeated Sins Govern by Demons
Accepting Jesus Christ is your heart is just the beginning. In order to be fully accepted in the Kingdom of God, you have to be like a virgin bride of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:2). If you keep committing the same sins habitually even though you are a Christian then you will need to get delivered. Repeated sins are govern by an evil spirit inside of you. As you have soul ties with this evil spirit you will not get to go to Heaven. This is why it is written, The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and other sins like these. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. – Galatians 5:19-21.
Self Deliverance vs Deliverance Ministry
It is up to you if you would like deliver yourself or go to a deliverance ministry. You can deliver yourself by fasting, denouncing any evil spirit and claiming your covenant with Jesus Christ. Self deliverance might take longer than getting delivered by a deliverance ministry depending on the level of grace you have.
People who have been delivered describe their experience as having a weight fall off of them. They feel more free and their lives change forever. People who knows them see the difference in how they behave. It is like they have gone through a spiritual detox. For it is written, So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free. – John 8:36.
Maintaining Your Deliverance
The only thing that you can do to maintain in your deliverance is self-discipline. For example if you had a problem with masturbation and got delivered, throw away all the porn you kept. If a thought come in your mind to masturbate, rebuke it in the name of Jesus Christ. If you go back to masturbating, the demon will come back accompanied by 7 more wicked demons in your life , and you will become worse (Luke 11:24-26). Always read the Bible and make note on how to live a life pleasing to God.
