02 Feb Is Hell real?
Many people today argue whether Hell exist or not. However according to the Bible, there is a such place where there is darkness, insufferable torment, and eternal fire. Jesus mention this place several times including with the story of The rich man and Lazarus. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. – Matthew 8:12. Jesus also warns us about our sins causing us to go to hell. If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out. – Mark 9:43.
The Opposite of Heaven
Hell is the exact opposite of Heaven. Where there’s peace in Heaven, there’s torment in Hell. Where there’s love in Heaven, there’s hatred in Hell. Where there’s freedom in Heaven, there’s bondage in Hell. Where there’s beauty in Heaven, there’s ugliness in Hell. There are angels in Heaven ministering to Saints (Hebrews 1:14). In Hell, there are demons tormenting sinners. In Heaven there is God. In Hell there is no presence of God.
Why did God Create Hell?
You might wonder why would an all loving God send people to hell. Even though God is merciful and loving, he hates sin. Remember God sacrificed himself as Jesus Christ so we can used his blood to cleanse our sins and the Holy Spirit to help us in order for us not to end up there. Originally God created Hell any demon who were disobedient (Matthew 25:41, Jude 1:6). Just like how God returned mankind’s body to dirt by body decomposition, he returns corrupted angels to fire. However people are in Hell because they follow Satan ways by living a sinful life, not repenting, and not trying to change their ways. Once you’re an unrepented sinner, you’re in a agreement with demons and not God. For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God – Deuteronomy 4:24. Jesus explained this to his disciples. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.” – John 15:5-6.
Hell is Eternal
Just like Heaven, Hell is eternal. The reason for this is because just like God, our spirit can’t die. Where ‘their worm never dies, and the fire is never quenched.’ Mark 9:44. However by sending people to Hell, God is killing the soul and body. In Hell there is no peace, beauty, happiness, light, or love. “But there is no peace for the wicked,” says the LORD. – Isaiah 48:22. In the Bible, it mentions different compartments of Hell such as the Abyss, Tartarus, and the Lake of Fire. Abraham’s Bosom used to be part of Hell. It was a great gulf that lead to the Abyss between saints and the sinners. The saints would have been on Abraham’s Bosom side and the sinners would have been in the tormenting side of Hell until Jesus died for our sins (Luke 16:23-26). After Jesus resurrected, the saints on Abraham’s Bosom roamed around the Jerusalem and went to Heaven (Matthew 27:52-53). Now Abraham’s Bosom is empty.
Some Christians Will Go to Hell
Some Christians believe as long as you believe Jesus Christ died for our sins that they’re not going to Hell. However it is not that easy. The Heavenly law is that sentence of sin is a trip to Hell. Jesus Christ died so we will not be in Hell whether we live a righteous or unrighteous life. You will need to follow Jesus Christ by practicing the two important commandments. Not only that we need to keep renewing our mind and heart to be pure. Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. – Matthew 7:21. Even some pastors or prophets will go to Hell for their hidden sins. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ – Matthew 7:22-23.
So please repent and start living a righteous life. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. – Matthew 10:28. Don’t be deceived by false teachers who try to convince you and themselves that it is impossible for Hell to exist and it was a new concept invented by the church.
