Both Joshua and Jesus means salvation in Hebrew.
Both men are commanders of an army (Joshua 1:10, Revelation 19:11-14).
Both men rewards their people inheritance (Joshua 15-18, 2 John 1:8, Revelation 22:12).
4. Command Nature to be Still
Joshua commanded the sun to be still and it was so (Joshua 10:12-13). Jesus Christ commanded the wind and sea to be still and it was so (Mark 4:39).
Joshua had faith that God will take him and his people to a land of milk and honey and encouraged others that it will happen (Numbers 14:6-9). Jesus Christ had faith that God will take him and whoever followed him to Heaven (John 14:1-2).
6. Threatened to be Stoned
Joshua was threatened to be stoned for telling the truth (Numbers 14:10). Jesus Christ was about to be stoned for revealing the truth (John 8:58-59, John 10:30-31).
Joshua did the will of God and lead his people to the promise land (The Book of Joshua). Jesus Christ did the will of God and made a way for his people to get to Heaven (New Testament).
