24 Jun What’s So Bad About Abortions
In 2014 there has been a reporting for over half a million of abortions in the US alone. This topic is always debated between pro-life and pro-choice. Some Christians also have debated over abortions and if it is right and circumstances that make it right. However God doesn’t like abortions because it is consider murder. Murder is a sin.
Spiritual Before Physical
Some pro-choice activists believe that the fetus is only a “lump of cells” and not a person due to what doctors have told them in abortion clinics. However this is not true. God creates and sets apart people before they were born through the spirit realm. This is why God tells Prophet Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:5. We are all made in the image and likeness of God thus having the trinity in us – the body, spirit, and soul (Genesis 1:26). This is why some Christians would have dreams of their children before conception.
Movements in the First Trimester
Even by 10 weeks a baby can make movements such as stretching, kicking, wiggling, punching etc. A lump of cells would not be able to do these things. This is why it was possible for Esau and Jacob to wrestle inside Rebecca’s womb. The babies jostled each other within her, and she said, “Why is this happening to me?” So she went to inquire of the LORD. The LORD said to her, “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger.” – Genesis 25:22-23.
Post Abortion Syndrome
Most women feel depressed or angry after an abortion for various reasons. Some women get pressured by their spouses or boyfriends to get rid of the baby. Some women get abortions due to health risks of the baby or themselves. Women are meant to have emotional attachment to their children. In the book of First Kings, there is a story about two women and two babies. One baby died and one woman switch the dead baby for the living one in the middle of the night. The women woke up and realized the dead baby was not her baby. Both women came to King Solomon about this dispute. The king decided to cut the baby in half to see how the women would react. The woman whose son was alive was deeply moved out of love for her son and said to the king, “Please, my lord, give her the living baby! Don’t kill him!” But the other said, “Neither I nor you shall have him. Cut him in two!” – 1 Kings 3:26.
