13 Apr Why Marriage is So Important
Many people today are living together without being married, getting divorce, gay marriage or in an open marriage. However marriage is sacred and is between one man and one woman. It is important to keep it as such to have a successful life. We will list 7 reasons why marriage is so important.
1. God Approves of It
After creating the Earth and the Heavens, God made Adam from dust. Adam was lonely so God created Eve, his wife, from his rib while he was in a deep sleep. That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. – Genesis 2:24. Adam and Eve became the first marriage in the Bible. Throughout the Bible, God compares Israel to a wife. But like a woman unfaithful to her husband, so you, Israel, have been unfaithful to me,” declares the LORD. – Jeremiah 3:20. So with this God highly approves of marriage between a man and a woman.
2. Praying Buddy
When you’re married, you have an in house praying buddy. You both pray, fast, sing, and worship together to get prayers answered quickly if you do it in agreement. “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” – Matthew 18:19.
3. Temple of the Holy Spirit
If you’re having sex with someone who you’re not married to, you’re abusing the temple of the Holy Spirit. Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. – 1 Corinthians 6:18-20.
4. True Love
Any marriage that is truly ordained by God is of true love. Once God leads you to your perfect spouse, there is no better feeling you can get from another adult. A man’s greatest treasure is his wife–she is a gift from the LORD. – Proverbs 18:22. God will not pair you up with a person who does not complement you.
Marriage is meant for both men and women to have children without having to worry about a paternity test, raising kids between two households, and child support court orders.
6. Satan Hates It
Satan will do anything break a marriage. He will send an agent of darkness to enter in your marriage as the “other woman or man”. Satan can also attack the husband through the body with Erectile Dysfunction. There are so many attacks of the enemies that come into marriage. That is why it is written, Do not deprive each other of sexual relations, unless you both agree to refrain from sexual intimacy for a limited time so you can give yourselves more completely to prayer. Afterward, you should come together again so that Satan won’t be able to tempt you because of your lack of self-control. – 1 Corinthians 7:5.
7. Second Greatest Commandment
Being in a marriage help you practice the second greatest commandment, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ – Matthew 22:39. Once you’re married, you will not only have to think about yourself but for another person on most decisions in life. Any impulsive decision you make in life once married affect both you and your spouse. Loving someone just as you love yourself is a new way of thinking for most but can get used to easier once you’re married.
