Even though miracles are happening in the name of Jesus Christ, some people are atheists thus living in spiritual darkness. Even though only 16% of the world population are atheists, we would still like to shed some light into this. We will list the top reasons people become atheists or agnostics.
1. Bad Experiences
Some atheists had bad experiences which turned them away from their faith and/or question the existence of God such as abuse, loss of a loved one, and other trauma. However the Bible made it clear that it was Adam who brought forth the curse on Earth and turned over the planet to Satan. Therefore there will always be terror on the Earth but demons are still roaming around the Earth spiritually. This is why it is written, Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. – 1 Peter 5:8.
2. Relying Too Much on Human Knowledge
Some people use science too much to define the existence of God. Some say that science proves God doesn’t exist when in fact it is the opposite. There are new scientific findings that debunked both the big bang theory and evolution theory. Now science has found proof of God by studying our environment and distance from the sun. Science also doesn’t explain the supernatural including people instantly disappear, shape shifting, strange objects in the sky, etc. Science focuses on human logic which is a big flaw. For it is written, For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness; and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”. – 1 Corinthians 3:19-20.
Some people see their lives as good and feel they have complete freedom. However the Bible states, Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. – Romans 6:16. So as humans are not free at all. For example: If you’re a person who is a drug addict, that’s a spiritual bondage. When that person tries to get free from this type of bondage, more demons enter in them (Matthew 12:43-45). This is why when some people who gets sober, don’t stay sober but in the worse state than before.
4. Unanswered Questions
Some people become atheists due to unanswered questions of the world. Why is there evil? Why God doesn’t do anything about it? What’s my purpose in life? There are so many more questions that people think among themselves but never get an answer to due their limited resources. With that they conclude themselves that God doesn’t exist.
5. Never Experienced His Presence
Even though the Holy Spirit is moving powerfully all around the world, there are still some people who never experienced his presence. With not ever experiencing the presence of God, some people will conclude that he doesn’t exist.
6. Fairy Tales
In America most children are used to being told fairy tales from Santa Claus to the Tooth Fairy. So when some people hear the story of Jesus Christ rising from the dead after 3 days, they take it as a fairy tale as well. However Jesus Christ is real and so is the devil. Satan and his kingdom are responsible for fairy tales. This is why most fairy tales have occultism and demonic undertones.
Some people feel that it is not possible for a god to solve their own problems. They feel that they can achieve and control anything in their life without a god. If they can control their own lives then it is impossible a god exist. However it is written, The LORD controls rulers, just as he determines the course of rivers. – Proverbs 21:1. So if God can control rulers, he can control you as well without you knowing it.
People are a product of their environment. If some grew up with atheists, then they will in turn become atheists. If some are mingled with atheists, they in turn will become atheists. The Bible states, Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? – 2 Corinthians 6:114-5.
