Benefits of Midnight Prayer

There are many benefits a Christian can reap when doing midnight prayer. Midnight time, which is between 12 am to 3 am,  is the most spiritually active period of day. For those that dream regularly, you will notice that dreams usually happen around this time. Intense spiritual activities happen in both the kingdom of God and Satan’s army. The reason for this is most humans are sleeping. The body is naturally weak at this time. This weakness makes you vulnerable to spiritual attacks or manipulation. Jesus Christ explained this in a parable. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. Matthew 13:25.

Midnight Events in the Bible:

1. At midnight the LORD struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn of the prisoner, who was in the dungeon, and the firstborn of all the livestock as well. – Exodus 12:29.

2. Samson broke the city gate of Gaza at midnight with power of the Holy Spirit. (Judges 16:3).

3. In one of the parables Jesus Christ preached, the bridegroom came out at midnight (Matthew 25:6).

4. A woman exchanged her dead baby for her roommate’s live baby at midnight (1 Kings 3:20).

5. God shook the foundations of the prison when Silas and Peter were praising and singing at midnight (Acts 16:25-26).

6. King David wakes up at midnight to give the Lord praises (Psalm 119:62).

7. In one of the parables Jesus Christ preached about prayer, a friend is knocking at the door at midnight for 3 loaves of bread (Luke 11:5).

What are the benefits of midnight prayer?

1. Midnight prayer strengthens our spirit man (Galatians 5:25).

2. Midnight prayer strengthens our faith (James 2:24).

3. Midnight prayer gives us have an upper hand in spiritual warfare (1 Peter 5:8).

4. Midnight prayer brings supernatural encounters with God through the Holy Spirit and his angels (Joel 2:28).

5. Midnight prayer gives you a good time to hear warnings from God without distractions (Job 33:14-18).

Midnight prayer is not required to live as a Christian but it is highly recommended. As Christians we face the most spiritual battles because we are the biggest targets for Satan and his kingdom (Revelation 12:17). So we must be vigilant and and pray at all times in the spirit (Ephesians 6:18).
