Things to Remember When Feeling Sad

Times get tough especially when life gets us down. However as Christians we can reflect on what God states about how he can help when you’re down. We list scriptures to read when you’re sad or depressed.

1. Peace Be With You

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. –  John 14:27

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:7


2. Wait for The Lord

But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. –  Isaiah 40:31


3. All Things Working for Good

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. –  Romans 8:28


4. Bring your Emotions to the Lord by Prayer

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. –  1 Peter 5:7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. – Phillipians 4:6


5. God Meets Your Needs

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:19


6. Ask & You Shall Receive

Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. – John 16:24


7.  God Will Strengthen You

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. – Isaiah 41:10

I can do all this through him who gives me strength. – Philippians 4:13
