Walking In Love

As Christians, Jesus Christ gave us two commandments for us to follow. First we must love God with all your heart (Matthew 22:37) and to love everyone as we love ourselves (Matthew 22:39). We are going to list how to walk in love like Jesus Christ.

1. Put God First

In order to walk in a life full of love, you must put God first in your life. If you seek his presence & righteousness, you will find love (Matthew 6:33). We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. – 1 John 4:16.

2. Love Your Enemies

God expects us to love everyone especially our enemies. (Luke 6:35, Luke 6:27, Matthew 5:44). Why should we do good to our enemies? Because God first loved us even though we were sinners (1 John 4:19). Before we believed in Christ, we were of the devil in the eyes of God (1 John 3:8). However God gave us his only begotten son so we may not perish (1 John 4:9).

“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.” – Luke 6:32

Keep in mind, those who have hatred in their hearts are dealing with some kind of demonic possession or oppression (Ephesians 6:12). Whenever you focus your time on hatred instead of love, you become subject to demonic oppression or spiritual attacks. So we need to pray for our enemies and do good to them in hopes that they will receive Jesus Christ in their hearts. This shows that you can truly forgive others.

3. Golden Rule

Treat others as how you would like to be treated (Matthew 7:12). Bear with people (Colossians 3:13). Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. – 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.

4. Apologize

Whenever you offend someone, be quick to apologize. If you sin against another person, ask for forgiveness (Matthew 5:24, Genesis 32:13).

5. Help Others

Whenever it is possible, help others in needs. May it be volunteering, donating, doing missionary work, etc. Use what God had given to you to bless the world (1 Corinthians 13:3).

So it is very important to walk in love. Walking in love is showing that you are indeed a child of God.
